First Thursdays – Žižkov & Karlín brings together a diverse group of local spaces, galleries, and institutions, both for and not-for-profit. Their common interest is the advancement and democratization of contemporary art. Each event offers various programmes, from openings to talks and guided tours. Not least, the project serves as a vital element for cooperation, solidarity and mutual support of galleries operating within two distinct Prague cultural districts.
We aim to open contemporary art to everyone from the broader community - to families with children and everyone who does not have the opportunity to see art during regular opening hours.
